What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the practice od penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles, which are activated through gentle and specific movements of the practitioner's hands or electrical stimulation. It is safe, effective, and drug-free therapy that treats a variety of health problems. It is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management. Acupuncture is also a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force. Acupuncture is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine.

What About the Acupuncture Needles?

The most common question we get is about the needles we use. Most people have encountered hypodermic needles and sewing needles. Both types are gigantic compared to the ones we use. In fact, five of our needles could easily fit inside a hypodermic needle!

What are common feelings during acupuncture?

When we first insert these ultra-fine, sterile needles at special energy points on your body, most people report a small prick, like a mosquito bite. When there is discomfort it is usually created by vivid imaginations, not our needles!
